Cavalleria rusticana is an opera in one act by Pietro Mascagni, based on the work of the same name by Giovanni Verga. This afternoon Timber will première a special adaptation of this opera for double wind quintet and double bass in an arrangement by Willem Luijt. Marten Hoekstra wrote a new text inspired by the libretto, which will be interpreted during this performance by singer and narrator Lot Berendse.

Over Timber Blazersensemble
Timber Blazer Ensemble has been performing since 1986 and given concerts all over the country. The basic line-up of the double wind quintet is regularly expanded with a few strings and/or brass players, and Timber regularly collaborates with soloists and storytellers.
The ensemble is conducted by Leon Berendse.
