Get involved

At the English Reformed Church we enjoy a variety of Christian fellowship activities together.

And we also welcome new volunteers to help strengthen the work of the Church.

The English Reformed Church is an old church with contemporary needs! The Media team is responsible for live-streaming, maintenance of the ERC website, social media management, the church magazine and more.

So if you are comfortable with tech and media and can offer some of your time, the Media team would be keen to hear from you.

Timing: When support is needed varies depending on the media channel.

Prayer group

If anyone feels in need of prayer, either for themselves or for someone else, please contact Peggy who shares all prayer requests with the prayer group at church.

The group members take turns praying with and for people after Sunday worship in the church. New volunteers are always welcome to help through the power of prayer.

Timing: After Sunday worship in the church.

Cooking at de Kloof

Would you like to help cook for the homeless? Once a month a small group of volunteers cook a hot meal for around 45 homeless people. Meals are prepared and served at a shelter in the centre of Amsterdam.

It’s rewarding work and volunteers have a lot of fun together. You’d be very welcome to join.

Timing: The second Saturday of the month from 9.30 to 13.00.

Bible reading

Passages from the Bible are read as part of Sunday worship each week, and the readings are done by volunteers from the congregation. We have a diverse congregation and hope that this diversity is seen reflected in our readers.

If you feel this is something that you would like to do, please let us know.

Timing: During Sunday worship service. A schedule of readers is created aligned to the availability of readers
