International Steinway Artist Teresa Walters
American pianst Teresa Walters performs a concert of sacred music by Franz Liszt
Dr. Walters performs extensively in the world’s finest concert halls and in university, community and church settings to fulfill her vision of great music as art, therapy and ministry. Her Amsterdam program features selections from her 2025 Celebration of Light Tour, honoring the 800th Anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s Canticle of the Sun written in 1225. The Washington Post wrote: “Teresa Walters is a splendid musician whose marvelous technical prowess and rich expressive resources create music of intimate introspection, orchestral grandeur, and the most minute inflections of color.”
International tours in recent seasons have included Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Australia, Russia, Japan and Israel. Other highlights include brilliant debuts in Manila and Hong Kong, performances with the Romanian Brasov Philharmonic, Rachmaninoff performances with orchestras in Russia, a South American debut in Sao Paolo, and the inaugural recital of the International Liszt Cycle for the Liszt-Kodaly Society of Spain.
Invited by Hungary to perform three prestigious European recitals honoring the Anniversary of Liszt’s birthday, she performed at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Esterhazy Palace and at Liszt’s Birthplace in Raiding where her performance was televised. In honor of the Liszt Bicentennial, Copenhagen’s Hungarian Embassy presented Dr. Walters in an all-Lizst gala recital as did Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall. Her Liszt recordings have received nominations for the Grand Prix du Disque and are hailed by FANFARE magazine as “a formidable display of technical dexterity and red-blooded power.”
Whether performing for European royalty or fundraising for children’s charities in Delhi, Teresa Walters is recognized for her shining worldview. In 2019-20, she toured internationally with her acclaimed program Celebrating Our World, honoring the world’s shared heritage and common humanity. During the 2020 global pandemic, she touched the world with her video Music of Hope and Healing. She also shared her Lakehouse Video Series combining two of her great passions – music and wildlife.
