Stroud High School is a grammar school situated in Gloucestershire, part of the beautiful Cotswolds area of England. Our students are supported in achieving their very best in a school where they thrive both academically and personally. Our school community is built on excellent relationships, a respect for individuality, a commitment to inclusivity as well as a sense of fun. The Music Department plays a key role in the community of Stroud High School, with a plethora of musical ensembles and opportunities including, Senior and Junior Choirs, Orchestras, Jazz Bands and String ensembles, Chamber Choir, Senior A Capella and production ensembles. The Music Department’s ethos is to inspire as many students as possible to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the department, whilst still maintaining a high standard of performance. The department is committed to giving students as many performance opportunities as possible, with three whole school concerts every year, House Music competition and a school production as well as the use of music as a platform to celebrate our students’ accomplishments through solo and ensemble performances in whole-school events. The Music team all share the same vision for the department; a place in which all students feel comfortable, accepted and able to nurture their passion for music in a dynamic and creative environment.
