1 May
Dear Friends,
I'm glad to say that despite the limitations imposed by Covid church life does go on and there are some important notices for you this week which I'd draw your attention to.
1) This Sunday, May 2nd, is the first of our 'Summer Proms' concerts in aid of the Mulanje Mission Hospital. A wonderful concert has been pre-recorded by our musicians, featuring music by J.S.Bach, Adolf Busch and Joseph Haydn. It will go up on our website at 13.00 on Sunday and be available thereafter. Don't miss it! The next concert is in three week's time, May 23rd. See our website for more details.
2) I would also draw your attention to a Congregational Meeting that will take place on Sunday May 16th, after the morning service at 11.45 hrs, and on Zoom. We normally hold an Annual General Meeting around this time but as technically we are not allowed to hold an AGM online this meeting will feature presentations of our church's life and will keep us in touch. Much preparation has gone into this and I do hope that people will log on and join us. Again, more details will be available on the website.
3) As mentioned last week, I would draw your attention to the Night Walk for Refugees that will take place on the night of September 11th and 12th. This is a 40 walk and there will be some practice walks if you'd like to build up your strength for it. Contact Gillian Walker on gillian.walker.ams@icloud.com .
Lastly, please note that this Sunday is a Holy Communion service - you might like to have some bread and wine or juice and a biscuit handy so that you can join in. And remember, please, that on this first Sunday of the month in normal times we hold a collection for the Mulanje Mission Hospital in Malawi. You might like to join the concert and give a donation through it.
Keep well, and all best wishes to you,
Lance

Prayer:
In this time there may be people who feel especially in need of prayer either for themselves or for someone else. In 'normal' times there was a small group of people in the congregation who used to take it in turns on Sundays to be available after the service to pray for anyone in need - so, if you would like prayer or have a particular prayer request please contact Margaret Richards on margaretanne_richards@hotmail.com and she and the others will pray accordingly.
A word about finance….
Please note that in this period when we are not meeting together there is a way of giving to the church on the website, https://www.erc.amsterdam. On this Communion Sunday we normally hold a collection for the Mulanje Mission Hospital in Malawi. This Sunday you might like to join in the concert and make a donation through it.
